Zion Irwin (b. 2006, San Francisco) works primarily with themes of identity and self-acceptance. In her oil paintings Zion portrays herself and others figuratively, with her focus shifting between processing memories of the past and uncovering her present self and emotions. Within her painting process, alternating between depicting her reality and mythical interpretations of her inner world, Zion seeks compositions that reflect her evolving sense of self.
